Lunch at Yak & Yeti-Walt Disney World-Animal Kingdom

Greetings from Yak & Yeti!

One of the hardest things about going to Walt Disney World (at least for Matt and I) is choosing where we are going to pause our park time and eat. We want it to be tasty, worth the time out, and we love a theme or character situation. We have heard so many great things about Yak & Yeti, and when we visited during our most recent trip in January 2025, we decided to check it out. Read on to learn about our experience and to decide if Yak & Yeti is work checking out during your next trip.

About Yak & Yeti & Getting a Reservation

Reservations/Getting A Table

Much like any restaurant at Disney, reservations are highly recommended. Six weeks prior to our trip I woke up at 6:00am to book our reservation. As soon as 7:00am hit, I clicked through to our dates and was able to book for 2:00pm.

I will tell you that when we arrived, we were so thankful that we had a reservation because it was absolutely packed! You can check in on the app or in person 20 minutes before your scheduled reservation time. We only waited 3 minutes for our table before being sat.

To book you can:

  • Utilize the My Disney Experience App.

  • Go online to disneyworld.disney.go.com

  • Approach the restaurant check in desk to ask on the day of to see if you can be added to the walk-up list. You can also join the walk-up list via the app.

Things to Know:

Screenshot from the My Disney Experience app shows the restaurant circled.

You can enjoy Yak & Yeti for Lunch from 10:30am-4:40pm or for Dinner from 4:45pm-6:50pm.

  • The food is classified as American, Asian, Chinese, and Seafood and this is considered Casual Dining, but it is a sit-down table service.

  • They do accept the Disney Dining Plan.

  • The dishes will range from $15-$34.99 per adult.

  • Credit cards must be provided at the time you book a reservation and will be charged a per-person fee if you don’t show up for your reservation or fail to cancel in accordance with policy. It is currently a $10 per person charge if you do not cancel within 2 hours of your reservation.

  • The restaurant is located in the Asia area of the park next to the Feathered Friends in Flight show and does require a park reservation.

  • You can book a private event! Just go to the website and fill out a form to get started.

The Ambience

If you go onto the website or ask a cast member, they will tell you the “story” of the restaurant:

“Here in The Town of Anandapur lives a rich merchant, Arjun, who has fallen on hard times and has turned his large home into the Yak & Yeti Hotel. The hotel is the kind of boutique hotel that wealthier adventure travelers might seek out in India. While travelers rest at the hotel, the owner and other families reside there. The décor, as well as the furniture, at Yak & Yeti is an amalgamation of mismatched artifacts Arjun has collected through his years of travel in Southeast Asia.” -Taken from www.yakandyetirestaurant.com

Below you can see some photos taken throughout the restaurant and it definitely vibes with the mismatched artifacts story that they are trying to portray. It has a warm, charming, and exotic feel all at the same time.

We got to sit upstairs and really take in the hustle of everything. They do have an elevator if needed. There is an abundance of air conditioning that is circulating which is a nice perk of taking time out of your park day. There is also a bathroom available downstairs.

The Food

Enjoying my nachos.

One of the best things about dining at Yak & Yeti is the extensive menu. There were so many choices! Our server was wonderful and as soon as he found out it was our first time he slowed down to explain all of their top sellers in each category and share his favorite items. Below are some photos of the menus. You can also reference the link to the website I posted above or use the My Disney Experience app to check the menu out. They switch out a “specials” menu periodically as well to keep things fresh and exciting for their guests.

Ahi Tuna Nachos $21.99

I decided to go with the tuna nachos. Our server told us that guests come here just for these so for me it was a no brainer. There were tons of crunchy fried wonton chips and big pieces of sushi grade ahi tuna, but they needed more of the sweet soy glaze and wasabi aioli in my personal opinion (they were a little dry). The Asian slaw was crispy and refreshing. We give it a 7 out of 10.

Yakiniku Don

Matt ordered the Yakiniku Don (Japanese Grilled Beef Bowl) which was a special and may not be available when you visit. It has marinated grilled skirt steak, grilled bok choy, sweet & sour carrots, bean sprouts, shitake mushrooms, miso slaw, and jasmine rice. Let’s just say that he ate the WHOLE thing (minus the bite he gave me of corse). The beef was cooked to perfection, tender, and kind of sweet like teriyaki. We give it an 8.5 out of 10.

To Sum It All Up

Posing outside the restaurant waiting for our table.

If you are looking for a relatively quick and relatively inexpensive place to sit down and eat that is inside at Animal Kingdom with lots of choices and options that you can share, we would absolutely recommend Yak & Yeti. Make the reservation so that you don’t have to wait, and if you are not sure what to get ask your server for some recommendations-that menu has tons of choices and can be overwhelming!

Have you been before or are you planning to go? What did you get to eat or what are you looking forward to? Please share in the comments. Happy travels!
