When visiting Walt Disney World, we are moving fast and furious! Even when we eat it is usually quick service like a turkey leg or something we packed in our backpack, so at least once a trip we like to treat ourselves to a special meal. This trip we chose Story Book Dining with Snow White at Artist Point.

We made our reservations 60 days in advance through the My Disney Experience app and it was a really tough one to get. The last time we came we did not get it!!

Dinner is $65 for adults and $39 for children not including tax and gratuity and the restaurant is located at the Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. You do not have to be a guest of this resort to make a reservation.

Let me just start by saying that this is the best character dining experience we have ever had. The food, the ambiance, the characters, everything about it was superb! We checked in early for our reservation and they notified us by text message and through the My Disney Experience app when our table was ready. Once you are through the doors, you are immediately transported into the enchanted forest that also serves as the dining room. Once you are shown to your table, your waiter or waitress will come around and explain the menu and setup.

The starters are shareable, you get to choose an entree (there were seven to choose from when we went), and the desserts are shareable as well. They bring the starters and the desserts out and place them on these majestic light up tree display stands. Sodas are included in the price of dinner, but they also have a great list of specialty cocktails and wines and beers to choose from if you want to add those on.

Once you choose your entree and drinks, the food starts flowing. It comes like any perfectly timed performance (one corse right after the other). We really enjoyed every appetizer, and I ordered an Enchanted Apple Martini (that was delicious).

As you are eating the characters are constantly moving around the restaurant. Normally things like this stress me out because I worry about when they are coming to my table and if we are going to get skipped, etc. It seemed like each character (Dopey, Grumpy, and Snow White) all start at one table and move in order from table to table. There was a random “silly song” and they paused greeting guests at tables and clapped and danced around the room, but then went right back to the tables. The Queen was a whole different story. First of all, she was an incredible actress and we had a really fun and memorable interaction with her. Second, your waiter will give you a invitation to go and greet the Queen when she is ready for you (at the end of the meal after you have paid). This helps keep her line down and keep everyone from crowing the middle of the restaurant. She has a fun backdrop and there is a Photo-pass Photographer there taking the photos for you.

The entrees we chose were the Royal Prime Rib Roast with horseradish mashed potatoes and the Magic Mirror’s Slow Braised Pork Shank. They were both incredible and cooked perfectly. The deserts came out and somehow we managed to find room to try them all and adored all three of those as well!

We have been to Cinderellas Royal Table and Be Our Guest (similar character dining experiences) and Matt and I both felt that the food and Character engagement was superior at Artist Point. When we shared this with our waiter Andre, he told us he had been working at the restaurant for 21 years and that it had been a signature restaurant before it got transformed into a character dining restaurant, and that they were so proud of the story they told not only with their characters in the dining room, but with the food as well.

If you have the time during your vacation, and if you are able to get the reservation, I highly recommend Story Book Dining with Snow White at Artist Point. It was an incredible experience and the food was to die for….well maybe just the poison apple. You know what I mean.
