Afternoon Drinks at the Nomad Lounge-Walt Disney World-Animal Kingdom
Cheers from the Nomad Lounge!
Animal Kingdom is one of our favorite parks to visit when we are vacationing at Walt Disney World, and it is secretly one of the best parks to enjoy delectable food and exotic beverages. During our most recent trip in January 2025, we decided to stop by the popular Nomad Lounge for a spirit and a snack. Read on to learn about our experience and decide for yourself if you want to stop by during your next visit.
Details About The Lounge
The entrance to the Lounge.
Normally this is where I would be telling you to log on to the app or the website 6 weeks in advance of your trip to book your reservation to the restaurants that you want to visit during your trip. The Nomad Lounge is first come first serve. Once the lounge opens at 10:30 am, you can join the walk-up list, which is exactly what we did.
The Nomad Lounge is circled on the map.
After we rope dropped several rides and walked all over the park, we decided that we were ready for a snack and a rest. We had actually never been to the lounge before and had heard fantastic things, so we had planned on checking it out during our trip and happened to be finishing up our Lighting Lane at the Na’vi River Journey and were in the area.
The Nomad Lounge is actually attached to Tiffans Restaurant which is on the way to Pandora and technically on Discovery Island. We approached the QR code just outside the restaurant at 10:45am and scanned to join the virtual que. You can also join from the My Disney Experience app. We immediately got a text message with an estimated wait time (you can also see an estimated wait time if you are on the app and filter to dining).
Within one minute we got another text message letting us know that our table was ready! We had been quoted a 10-minute wait, so we were delighted to be sat right away (we were starving). We were especially surprised because we were there on a weekend day (Sunday) and the park was pretty crowded.
I would definitely say that we got lucky because it was right after opening. I would also say that we got sat quickly because there were only two of us, and because we sat inside. The seats outside are MUCH more impressive and more in demand. You can ask for a seat outside, just be prepared to wait longer.
The room where we were seated.
We were whisked away to our seats in the room in the very back of the lounge. We passed the bar which had lots of seats and also open seating in the room itself.
Our cozy booth.
We got an awesome booth where we quickly settled in and began to take a look at the menu. Below are some additional photos of the lounge inside and outside so you can get a sense of the ambience.
The Food & Beverage Options
Enjoying our sliders.
We were excited about the options that were available on the menu in terms of both drinks and small bites. This is definitely not the place to come if you are super hungry or if you are trying to feed a family. Great for small bites and a drink to cool off. We also thought it was kind of cool that they had some of the appetizers from Tiffans that you could order. Below are some snaps of the menus that were provided to us.
For our drinks we decided to go with the Leaping Lizard and the Jenn’s Tattoo. We also decided to share some of the Sliders since we were hungry and had not eaten yet that day. Be prepared because the drinks will come with the dreaded Disney paper straws!
Jenn’s Tattoo. $15.50
The Jenn’s Tattoo is what I ordered via the server’s recommendation. I prefer something sweet. It was delightful. Dangerous in a way because you really could not taste the alcohol. Made with Ketel One Vodka, watermelon, hibiscus, and lime juice. It had a soft hint of watermelon, and the star was the hibiscus. There was an edible hibiscus flower on top that the server told me would be like a fruit roll up and she was totally right! It was not quite as sweet or gummy and I ate the whole thing!! We give it an 8.5 out of 10!
Eating my edible hibiscus and pondering my life choices.
The Leaping Lizard. $17.50
Matt ordered the Leaping Lizard. It was overall refreshing rather than being super sweet (but it was in fact sweet). Made with Malibu Pineapple Rum, Novo Fogo Silver Cachaca with orange, passion fruit, and mango juices. We loved the pineapple flavor, but it had more of an alcohol taste than mine did. It also came with a garnish of cherries. We give it an 8 out of 10.
At this point we were really looking forward to a little bite of something because we had not eaten all day and to be honest, we are not big drinkers, so we were feeling a little silly (especially me). When the waitress came around to bring us our food she asked if we would like another round and even informed us that we could get our drinks in TO GO cups!! Animal Kingdom for the win!!
The Cuban Frita Sliders $16
The sliders were the perfect little bite for each of us. They were beef and pork with a spiced ketchup and the plate and sliders had little tiny shoestring potatoes scattered on them. They also came with mojo yuca fries. They were cooked medium, and the ketchup had a nice spice (not spicy just tasty) that gave it some flavor. The bun was pleasing and soft. We gave them a 9 out of 10. The fries were a little chewy with a crisp on the outside and could have been warmer. We gave them a 6 out of 10.
In Conclusion
Overall, we had a really pleasant experience and would absolutely do this again. I would probably recommend this for adults. If you love Epcot for “drinking around the world” and have not been here, you are missing out!
We loved that it was attached to Tiffans and offered some of their appetizers as this is a coveted restaurant that is hard to get into. There is also a bathroom inside for you to utilize.
We also really liked that they offered drinks to go (if you are into that it is definitely a perk).
There is nice ambience inside (that has air conditioning) and outside with some beautiful views.
The drinks and food that we had were tasty and priced to be expected (for a Disney park).
Hope you stop by and enjoy yourself!! Let us know about your experience, or if you have a favorite snack or beverage in the comments!
