Walt Disney Studios Park-Disneyland Paris

In June 2022, Matt took me to visit Disneyland Paris and we spent half a day at the Walt Disney Studios Park. Read on to see photos, videos, and information about the park and what our experience was like. If you see a * next to something, it means that we got to personally experience that thing.

The park consists of five separate areas: the Front Lot, the World Of Pixar, the Marvel Avengers Campus, the Toon Studio, and the Production Courtyard. We spent time in each area (except for the Avengers Campus as it had not opened yet) and had dinner reservations at Bistrot Chez Remy at 5:45pm. The park is open from 9:30am until 10pm (you can get in at 8:30am if you are staying at a Disneyland resort).

Front Lot

If you are looking for a little taste of the “golden age of Hollywood” then look no further than the Front Lot area of the Walt Disney Studios Park. It mainly consists of the walkthrough attraction Disney Studio 1 where you walk through what feels like a giant movie set and are taken into the magic of filmmaking. You literally have to walk through this portion to get in and out of the park, so we got to see it several times.

This area of the park feels like it is dedicated to the animated classics. With the exception of Mickey and the Magician, we did not really spend any time here as we skipped the one ride in the area.

Mickey and the Magician

One of the most coveted shows to be seen in both parks, it was truly worth the wait and an absolutely incredible show. In a mix of French and English, it was easy to follow, showcased a ton of familiar and beloved characters, and was actually really easy to get in to. Besides the fireworks, this is the only show we sat down to watch, and we were worried (due to all the hype) that we would not be able to get in.

Waiting for the show to start!

Performances take place every day at 1:00pm, 2:05pm, 3:10pm, 5:25pm and 6:30pm and the queue fills up super-fast!! You can pay for advanced seating (right now it is $18 per person) but we did not do this and got into the show that we got in line for. We got in the queue about 30 minutes in advance of the show and got in with no problem.

Some photos from the finale.

Production Courtyard

I will be honest, the Tower of Terror is not our favorite and we chose to have limited time in this park, so we wandered over to this area to take a look, and then we moved on over to the next section.

    • Musical Show: The Disney Junior Dream Factory Show

    • Stitch Live! A close encounter of the third kind

Worlds Of Pixar

The claw…….

Who doesn’t love Pixar!?! We spent most of our time in the park in this area. There were rides that the USA does not have (Crush’s Coaster, Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop, RC Racer, and Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin), and tons of fun photo ops throughout the area. I was also able to take advantage of the single rider line on Ratatouille and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop and did not wait longer than 10 minutes for either ride!!

    • Ratatouille: The Adventure*

    • Crush’s Coaster

    • Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop*

Cars Road Trip

This one was one of our favorites in this park as it was a combination of Cars and the old Studio Backlot Tour from Hollywood Studios from back in the day. It was entertaining and a great getaway from the heat as you got to sit in the vehicle and ride a round for what felt like at least 10 minutes.

The only thing we disliked was that anytime a ride went down for any reason, they completely shut it down and evacuated the people currently on the ride and dismissed the people in line. We were the next group to get on this ride when one of the trams doors got stuck open. Rather than just let people stay in the line until it was fixed (like we are used to), they had us leave and told us to watch the app and come back later.

Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

This is one we don’t have in the states, so I had to give it a go! Matt does not do so well with heights and has motion sickness, so I did it on my own. They have a great program here where you can do a single rider line, so I literally only stood in line for five minutes and was on the ride!!

Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin

This is another one that we don’t have in the states (ours is a roller coaster) so I wanted to give it a try. It felt like the Himalayan ride at every fair where you smoosh against one side of the ride, but I loved every second.

Marvel Avengers Campus

So this part of the park was not open when we went but here are some of the details:

  • Attractions:

    • Avengers Assemble: Flight Force

    • Spiderman WEB Adventure

    • Hero Training Center (requires reservation)

    • Heroic Welcome (character interaction)

    • Warriors of Wakanda

    • Avengers Unite

    • The Amazing Spiderman

    • Guardians of the Galaxy Dance Challenge

    • Super Heroes on Patrol

    • Heroic Encounter

  • Dining:

    • Stark Factory

    • PYM Kitchen

    • Super Diner

    • Fan Tastic Food Truck

    • Web Food Truck

Characters

  • Hero training Center-Book a time through the app and get photos taken with some of the Avengers.

  • Heroic Encounter-check the app for times

  • Goofy-check the app for times

  • Olaf-check the app for times

  • Jessie or Friends 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30

We loved being able to utilize the single rider so that I could do some of the rides that Matt did not want to do but still save time. We also loved the Mickey and the Magician show. We felt that the half day was plenty for us, but again, the Avengers Campus portion was not open at that time. This park had fewer restaurant options and had more food trucks. We did not see any characters walking around during our strolls through the park (unlike our experience at the other park) but overall enjoyed our time and if you are going suggest you spend at least some time at this park. Have a great time!!
