Myconian Ambassador Hotel Relais & Chateaux-Mykonos Greece

In the lobby waiting to check in after getting off the Mercedes shuttle enjoying our complementary welcome refreshments.

If you are traveling to Mykonos and looking for a little luxury, the Myconian Ambassador Hotel is a little slice of paradise. Rated at 5 stars, we were impressed from the moment we walked in. We traveled from Santorini to Mykonos by ferry and left at 10:05 am and arrived at 12:10pm. We had arranged transportation in advance, and a fancy Mercedes bus waited to whisk us and a few other guests away from the hustle of the docks to the other side of the island. Our stay was for a partial sea view (Sea Breeze) with free breakfast and free Wi-Fi and cost $452.28. We used our travel agent Shane to book our trip about 6 months in advance and were so thrilled about this hotel that he chose for us.

Some of the beautiful landscape that we passed on the way to our room.

A stunning lookout spot that we passed on the way to our room.

The walkway leading up to our room and just outside our door.

A tour of our room.

Normally we don’t care about staying somewhere that is 5 stars. We are just there to sleep and change so as long as it is safe and clean, we are happy. The Myconian Ambasador completely spoiled us for life for this. It was so exquisite we didn’t want to leave. We loved it so much, that we decided to spend one of our days in Mykonos at the pool and at the beautiful Platis Gialos beach that was a 5-minute walk. We even had lunch by the pool and dinner at the restaurant.

A complementary welcome gift that was waiting for us in our room.

As you can see from the video, the room was spectacular. You can see the Agean sea from the balcony to the left, and the mountains to the right. Inside the room was marble floors, floating shelves, mood lighting controls, a Nespresso machine, a private balcony, luxury toiletries (including toothbrushes and loofas), a beach bag (that we got to take home as a souvenir and was included in the price of our stay), soft slippers to use while in the room (also free to take home), bottled water, and a welcome bottle of wine and local pastry snack. The air conditioning was the best we experienced while in Greece, and the same could be said for the water pressure in the shower and the overall comfort and feel of luxury. The glass divider separating the bedroom and bathroom ended up having an electronic blind system to create privacy when you wanted it, but allowed tons of sunlight in when you didn’t need the privacy.

Selfie on the balcony.

Some of the rooms below us had private spa pools.

The view from our room.

Another quick balcony selfie before we head out to dinner.

Just outside our room. The landscape and local flowers and plants were so pretty.

Stairs on the way back to the main building.

Just down from that lookout spot with the cute little bench.

Hallway to the restaurant and pool areas.

For our second day (and only full day in Mykonos) we decided to make it a resort day. We started out by enjoying breakfast by the pool at Latitudes The Breakfast Terrace.

Some of the art leading in to the restaurant/bar area.

Some of the offerings on the breakfast buffet.

A beautiful display of local honey.

Dessert at breakfast! Don’t mind if I do!

Our breakfast table and view. Not only is the pool dazzling to look at, but just beyond you can see the ocean.

You could custom order omelets or eggs and crepes in addition to the selection of things on the buffet tables. I went with a Nutella and banana crepe.

After breakfast, we decided to hit the beach. It was about a five-minute walk down to the beautiful and famous Platis Gialos Beach.

A quick snap as we are walking down to the beach.

Picking out our spot to perch.

The water was beautiful and clear. You could see all the way to the bottom for at least the first 10 feet away from the shore. The sand is not like the sand in the United States, but more like little, tiny rocks. It was so relaxing to sit and enjoy the sun and the sound of the waves.

There are all these different beach chairs available, and each belong to what look like different restaurants/bars. We were there around 11:00am and there were already waitstaff available to assist us. We paid for our chairs (about $12 for the day) and they provided us with menus in case we wanted any food or beverages.

You can see the hotel in the way background up on the hill.

After a few hours, we decided to head back up to the hotel and spend the afternoon by the pool.

The hotel pool.

The pool chairs were these gigantic, cushioned chairs and each had a little table for you to put your drinks and things on.

We tried several of the drinks, some with alcohol and some without. We also ordered a traditional Gyro for lunch.

Our chicken Gyro and fries for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, the staff brought everyone free sour cherry popsicles to enjoy. I wish I could buy them in a store. They were fantastic and so refreshing!

We decided to get ready for dinner and to eat in the hotel’s restaurant Efisia. We had to grab photos of the sunset from the balcony first!

View at the edge of the restaurant.

The concierge booked us a table at the hotel restaurant the day before just after checking in and we were so happy that they were able to accommodate us. They were almost completely full, and the bar area was packed as well. The waiter took great care of us and brought over a complementary Amuse Bouche while we decided what to order. We also tried a shot of Ouzo to celebrate our last night in Mykonos!

Some kind of Amuse Bouche.

The Foie Gras $36.

Homemade Ravioli $38.

The fish of the day-Sea Bream. $130/kgr

Creme Burlee $16

After our incredible dinner, we strolled back to our room to our cloudlike beds (which had been turned down and now had a truffle on them) to turn in for the night. We truly felt like royalty while staying at the Myconian Ambassador (or at least celebrities). So if you are looking for luxury that is in a more private area in Mykonos, I highly suggest the Myconian Ambassador.

Have you stayed anywhere in Mykonos? Ever stayed at the Myconian Ambassador? How about a 5-star experience that made you feel like you were a celebrity? Drop it in the comments!!
