The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa
I recently attended a conference for work, and all of our accommodations were at the Westin Lake Las Vegas. Normally when I go to Vegas I am used to staying on the strip, but this time we stayed 27 minutes away in the scenic Henderson, NV.

Pets are welcome on the property for a $150 pet cleaning fee. No more than 2 pets per room and they must be under 45 pounds. We saw several fur babies during our stay. Some were even sitting in the chairs in the lobby bar!
Rick’s Cafe is a Mediterranean themed restaurant that is open for breakfast and dinner. Serving daily from 6:30am-1:30pm and again from 5:30pm-10pm. My co-workers and I had an early dinner here and while the food was ok (some had salads, some had burgers, some had club sandwiches), the service was really slow and there was a 22% service charge.
Marssa Steak & Sushi is a Japenese restaurant open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner from 5pm-9:30pm.
The Sandsa Bar & Grill is open every day from 11am-5pm for poolside fare and cocktails.
The Marrakesh Express Marketplace is the in-house Starbucks, complete with pastries and quick breakfast options. I was here every single morning for my Venti Iced Almond Milk White Chocolate Mocha. They are open every day from 6a-10a. The staff here was super-fast and friendly. Even with the long conference lines, I never waited very long, and my drink was perfect every time. They also had a selection of chips, frozen meals, bottled drinks like Gatorade, wine, and some candy and snacks.
There are so many beautiful places to lounge around, have a drink, catch up on emails, chat with friends, or do whatever you would be doing during your stay.
There are two swimming pools and a whirlpool on the property for you to enjoy.
The Upper Nuala Pool is open every day from 9am-7pm and is heated. There are lifeguards on duty and towls are provided. There is also a pool slide that is open from 10am-5pm. The Whirlpool is also beside the upper pool.
The Lower Nuala Pool is open from 9am-6pm.
There is a large conference area with many rooms that can be customized. They can also host weddings in this space, and they have lovely outdoor areas over in this section that can be utilized.
There are 35 event rooms, with the largest capacity room at 2,100 square feet. There are 12 breakout rooms, and the total event space is 10,9521 square feet.

The room was spacious and comfortable, but my favorite thing about it was the outdoor space and the view!!
The website boasts a 3.5 out of 5 rating and has over 2,000 reviews. The hotel is older but still has Westin luxury. The biggest issue for me, is that it is super far away from the strip. There were no slot machines or anything “Vegas” related about the hotel or surrounding area. It was much more of a relaxed, resort type of vibe. There is a “village” that is about a 25-minute walk with a small grocery/convenience store and a few restaurants and shops, but it feels deserted. It definitely could have been the time of year I visited.
Hopefully my review helps you decide if this is the right place for you. Happy travels friends!
