Tony’s Town Square Restaurant-Walt Disney World
Sometimes when visiting Magic Kingdom, all Matt and I want to do is get into the air conditioning for a little while, escape the shoulder to shoulder crowds, and enjoy a nice meal. We have had the pleasure of experiencing many of the quick service and sit down restaurants at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, but this trip we decided to go somewhere new, Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.
As with any Disney dining, it is best to make a reservation, so 60 days in advance, I logged onto the My Disney Experience app and luckily got a reservation for 4:50 pm on Wednesday October the 11th. You can either go on the app, the website, or you can call to make a reservation.
About ten minutes before our reservation time, we utilized the app to check in (you can check in at the host stand as well but we just checked in as we were walking up). Once we got to the restaurant we checked in again with the hostess just to make sure they knew we were here and we received a text confirming we were checked in and another text when our table was ready.
The Theme
Step into the world of Lady and the Tramp and imagine having a meal at the Italian restaurant where the Tramp took Lady (you just get to eat inside). The decor and theme is a Lady and the Tramp lovers dream as the restaurant is full of original art from the movie and the premiere. Even the little brooches the waitress wear are themed!!
They even have some hidden Mickeys you can try to find!! One is inside the restaurant and one is just outside!!
One of my favorite details was actually just outside the restaurant. Right in front of the patio and where people park their strollers, if you look closely, you can find Lady and the Tramp’s paw prints!!
The Restaurant
Right when you walk into the park and to the right (if you are facing the castle) the restaurant is attached to the Town Square Theatre.
You can enter any of the doors, but the direct entrance is the one to the far left. You immediately know where you are because you will start to see the Lady and the Tramp decor, they even had the movie on in the lobby area for the littles to watch while waiting for their table.
There are restroom’s available, and they also have a cool souvenir penny press that is of course Lady and the Tramp themed just outside the restroom.
There are three dining areas. The main dining room (with the fountain), the middle dining area leading to the porch, and the covered porch.
The Food
Italian is one of our favorite cuisines and I have to say that at first, we were nervous about the food. Tony’s has not always had the best reputation, but they have recently turned things around, and this week they changed up their menu as well!! Our food was delicious, and we were stuffed!! This is not somewhere you should come for a light meal. We did not eat all of our appetizer, and I could not finish my portion of pasta it was so big.
Another win here (for some) is that they serve alcohol. We did not partake but it is nice that it is an option.
We started with the garlic bread, and it was probably my favorite part of the meal. It was warm and crispy. Like crunchy crispy. Like almost scratch the roof of your mouth crispy!! It came with “Parmesan Fonduta” (which is the same sauce that goes with the Alfredo pasta). Our waitress asked us if we wanted it drizzled or on the side but suggested it on the side so it would not make the bottom pieces soggy, and she was right to make the recommendation (and it was fun to drizzle ourselves). The sauce came out warm and was just the right thickness.
10/10 $13
Matt went with the Chicken Parmigiana and said that it was really good. I asked him to compare it to Olive Gardens and he said better. He especially liked the marinara sauce because some places sauce can be more sweet and this one was more savory. It came out piping hot. He cleaned his plate!
7.5/10 $30
I went with the Fettuccine Alfredo with roasted chicken (you could choose from chicken or shrimp). Mine came out steaming hot and the waitress offered to bring out shredded cheese for the table. It came out chilled and in a little ramekin and didn’t cost any extra.
9/10 $28
For dessert we went with the Italian Strawberry Shortcake. The cake was light and fluffy, the cream was not too sweet and the balsamic and basil added a nice touch.
10/10 $9
