Be Our Guest-Character Dining at Magic Kingdom

After a few days of fighting crowds, Orlando heat, and eating quick service food, it is nice to have a special sit-down meal at one of the Magic Kingdom’s most exclusive restaurants.

Matt and I have eaten at Be Our Guest several times and there are a few things that make this character dining even more special than some others. Read on to find out more! We made our reservations 60 days in advance in the My Disney Experience app. They do take walk up but be prepared to wait and to potentially be turned away. Check the app consistently because people cancel last minute all the time. Be prepared to spend an hour and a half to two hours here (this is valuable park time so it may not be for everyone) and be aware of what time you are booking your reservation as you may not want to miss a parade, show, or fireworks. You can check for those showtimes in the app as well.

The restaurant is tucked away in the back corner of Fantasyland. There is usually a Photo Pass Photographer just past the gates and they do a lovely magic shot and can get The Beast’s Castle in the background of your photos for you. You can check in or inquire about wait times at the gates, and if you have a reservation, they will send you through to the Castle entrance.

The views leading up to the entrance are lovely and we always stop for photos.

This photo is from the regular park walkway (not past the gate leading into the restaurant).

Once you pass through the doors, you will check in with the host or hostess. Depending on how busy they are, there may still be a small wait, but they will call you when your table is ready. There is plenty to look at while you wait.

One of the things we really like about this restaurant is that there are three different themed dining rooms. The first is the Grand Ballroom. It is the largest and can accommodate the most people. It takes you straight to the “tale as old as time” scene and you can see snow falling outside the windows. It is absolutely beautiful.

The second themed room is the West Wing. You are transported to the Beast’s lair and can see the damage he has done in his dispair.

In this room you can also see the enchanted rose!

The third room is the Rose Gallery. This room features tons of paintings of Belle and The Beast’s adventures together (some of them even feature hidden Mickeys).

In the center of the room, there is a stunning twirling Belle and Beast statue.

The cuisine at Be Our Guest is French Inspired. Guests dine on a prix fixe 3 course menu. You get to choose your appetizer and your main, and then get to try the trio of desserts. It costs $67 for adults and $39 for children 3-9 years old.

One thing we liked about Be Our Guest was that they provided bread. Cinderellas Royal Table, and Storybook Artist Point did not.

It would not be character dining without a visit from a character! The Beast makes his rounds in each room to wave and bow about every 15 minutes. An announcement comes over the speaker system to let you know he is coming. He does not stop for individual photos, autographs, or hugs, etc. He simply circles around each room and exits.

At the end of your meal, you are given a delightful keepsake postcard with a stained-glass image of the castle on one side, and the Beast’s autograph on the other.

On the way out, you can pass by another exquisite photo opportunity, the stained-glass window featuring the enchanted rose and Beauty and the Beast.

Again, just outside the gates where you do your initial check in, you can usually catch a photographer and they do a wonderful job creating some extra magic by adding Lumiere into your photo.

So, if you want a few hours to relax in the park and enjoy a special meal, make your reservation for Be Our Guest. There are tons of options to choose from, three rooms to dine in, and memories to last a lifetime.
