Floreal House-Cape Town, South Africa

When visiting Cape Town, South Africa there are SO many things to do and see, so staying somewhere that is centrally located is really important. We also prefer to stay places with personality, and where you can feel homey touches. The Floreal House was the perfect place for our three-night stay.

The Floreal House is located in Oranjezicht, away from the main urban hustle and bustle, but is still close to parks, the city center, the waterfront, the beach, and Camps Bay. One of the best things about the Floreal House is that it sits just at the base Table Mountain, giving any guest absolutely stunning views.

Our stay was booked through our travel agency in partnership with Live Life African Safari Getaways and Cape Town was the first stop in our two-week African getaway.

The Floreal House has 12 rooms and one apartment, and each one has been individually decorated. One of them (the one we stayed in) has bay windows, one opens to the terrace, some have garden views, and some have views of the city, bay, or Table Mountain. It has a charming white exterior and wooden framed windows.

The style in each room is understated classic, and there is polished pine flooring throughout almost the entire house.

Out of the 12 bedrooms, there are 4 Double rooms, 5 Double/Twin rooms, 3 Tripple rooms, and there is one apartment available with a kitchenette and lounge.

From the breakfast.

There are tons of activities to enjoy while visiting Cape Town. We partnered with our travel agent and our consultant from Live Life African Safari Getaways in advance and had an itinerary prepared before we arrived. Here is a list of what we did:

  • Whale watching (you could also do great white shark diving).

  • Stopped by the Shark Shacks where they observe the water and warn beachgoers about any Great White sharks swimming around.

  • Camps Bay Beach.

  • Boulder Beach to see the penguins.

  • Table Mountain-we rode the cable car to the top.

  • Chapman’s Peak.

  • Hout Bay.

  • V&A Waterfront-this was a bit of a letdown for us because we were hoping for local market style shopping but it was actually a fancy mall.

At Champs Bay Beach. The views were breathtaking.

We also had our meals planned before arrival. Breakfast was included with our stay at Floreal House so we only had to worry about Lunch and Dinner.

  • Lunch at La Parada Constantia Nek

  • Dinner at The Shortmarket Grill

  • Dinner at GOLD Restaurant

Enjoying a drink provided by the hotel after dinner at GOLD restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay at Floreal House and would recommend it to anyone looking for more of a bed and breakfast vibe rather than a hotel situation. We loved the personalized touches and homey feel. The location was great, service was warm and welcoming, and the rooms were spacious and clean.
